‘Deviant who gets aroused even by slight touch, amputee Govindachamy with extraordinary strength’

Notorious criminal Govindachamy is a man of extraordinary physical strength. Although he is an amputee, he was able to climb the huge wall easily, said Dr Hitesh Shankar, a professor of the forensic department at Manjeri Medical College and a police surgeon. Hitesh Shankar was the head of the forensic department at Thrissur Medical College when Govindachamy was arrested in the case of raping and murdering a girl. His statements and findings played a decisive role in examining the notorious criminal and getting him punished in the case.

The doctor said that although he is an amputee, Govindachamy's hands are stronger than those of ordinary people. He also said that this may have helped in jumping the wall with a rope made of cloth. He can easily do things with his right hand, with the support of his disabled hand, more smartly than normal people can do. The examination at that time found that the muscles of his disabled left hand were very strong. The only problem was that he did not have a palm. He used that hand to carry the girl, who fell from the train and took her to a nearby bush and raped her.

Govindachamy has the ability to hang himself from moving trains and jump from it. This ability may have helped him to jump the wall with a rope. The doctor said Govindachamy's back muscles also have extraordinary strength while hanging from and jumping off trains. He also said that if he is subjected to a physical examination, we will be able to find the scratches and other marks he sustained while jumping the wall.

Hitesh Shankar also said that the weight loss by not eating rice may have been based on clear knowledge. If you reduce the amount of rice that is high in carbohydrates, your body weight and size will decrease. When you eat chapatis and curries with meat instead of rice, you will get enough protein. He did not have any problems with his body and muscles, he also gained more strength.

Hitesh Shankar said that Govindachamy was a sex addict. To explain this, he also described the experience he had when he examined Govindachamy, when he was arrested.

All the policemen were asked to go out and only a few, including lab staff, were in the examination room. As part of the examination, the female lab technician touched his hand to collect blood. In that one physical touch, he got aroused. This does not happen to a normal person. I recorded this as a clear indication that the accused is capable of physically subduing a girl. Govindachamy also narrated in detail everything that happened on the day of the incident. His aim was to steal the bag. When he tried to grab her, he touched her body in many places. Things went beyond theft. I recorded what he said. All this was crucial in getting the accused punished.
