Charred body of elderly woman found in capital city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A charred body of an elderly woman was found at Balaramapuram in Thiruvananthapuram. The dead is Shobana (62) of Kottukal.

The incident happened Saturday morning at around 11:30 am. The neighbours found her burnt body in the courtyard of her house. Her husband Sudhakaran is a daily wage labourer. They have two children. No one else was at home at the time of the incident. The police suspect it to be a suicide. However, her relatives said Shobana did not have any issues leading her to end her life. Steps have been taken to send the body for postmortem. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
