THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Probationary Sub Inspector Krishnamohan of Museum Police Station was suspended for assaulting a Circle Inspector during the Prime Minister's election campaign visit to Thiruvalla. The suspension was made by the City Police Commissioner.

Krishnamohan arrived to meet the Prime Minister despite not being on official duty. However, he did not have the official pass to enter the function. The Thiruvalla CI stopped Krishnamhan as he tried entering the event without a pass. Krishnamohan was asked by officials not to disrupt their duty by creating trouble.

However, the ensuing argument led to the assault and the CI was allegedly manhandled. Following the incident, the police registered a case against Krishnamohan and his two friends. It was only later that the police understood that Krishnamohan was indeed a police officer from Thiruvananthapuram.
