THRISSUR: Firos, the vice president of the Congress unit in Nattika, has come forward raising serious allegations against Congress leader TN Prathapan, the UDF candidate in Manalur constituency. Firos alleged that there is a deal between TN Prathapan and B Gopalakrishnan, the BJP candidate in Guruvayur. He raised the allegation while speaking at a press conference organised at the CPM office. According to Firos, the deal involves mutual support. He claimed that if the BJP supports Prathapan in Manalur, Congress will return the favour in Guruvayur.
Firos also accused Prathapan of helping Suresh Gopi in the Thrissur Lok Sabha election by influencing votes. He alleged that Prathapan accepted Rs 8 crore from Suresh Gopi to be distributed in Nattika and Manalur. He further claimed that the money was distributed among mandalam presidents, DCC members, block committee leaders, and KPCC members who stood by Prathapan.
"The money was transported in a vehicle belonging to Prathapan’s son. Prathapan is an expert in fraudulent activities. He promised to help the BJP win in Guruvayur by ensuring the defeat of Rasheed. We became aware of this plan three days ago," Firos said.
