KOLLAM: The Kollam Vigilance Court has granted bail to former Thiruvabharanam Commissioner K S Baiju in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The court granted statutory bail in the Dwarapalaka idol case. He will be released from jail today itself. He moved for statutory bail after the remand period of 90 days had passed. He was earlier granted bail in the door frames case.

Former Devaswom president A Padmakumar was also granted bail in the door frames case. However, he is still on remand as he is involved in the Dwarapalaka case. 90 days of Padmakumar's arrest in the Dwarapalaka case will complete this week. With this, he will be able to approach the court with a plea for statutory bail. So far, six accused, including the main accused Unnikrishnan Potty, have been granted bail and released.

Former devaswom board administrative officer Murari Babu, former devaswom board executive officer Sudheesh Kumar, former devaswom board administrative officer S Sreekumar, former devaswom commissioner N Vasu, and Tantri Kandararu Rajeevar have been granted bail so far. The accused filed bail pleas considering the fact that the special investigation team has not filed a charge sheet.
