KOCHI: The Kakkanad Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court has issued summons to actor Unni Mukundan in the case of assaulting his former manager. The court has asked the actor to appear directly in the court on October 27. A case was registered against the actor earlier on the complaint filed by his former manager Vipin Kumar of Changanassery in Kottayam. Vipin Kumar in his complaint said the actor assaulted him over a social media post praising Tovini Thomas’ film Narivetta. He also alleged that he was pushed, kicked, verbally abused, and had to seek hospital treatment before filing a police complaint.

The Kakkanad Infopark police had filed a charge sheet in the case. The summons is a follow-up to this.

The First Information Report (FIR) said that he was slapped and threatened by the actor. However, the charge sheet said there is no evidence for the actor assaulting him. The offences charged against the actor were bailable. The next step for the actor is to appear in the court and take bail.
