CPM General Secretary washing his plate during outreach program; video footage goes viral

KODUNGALLUR/THRISSUR: CPM General Secretary M.A. Baby went to the kitchen and washed his own plate he had eaten in. The incident took place during an outreach program in Kodungallur. The video of this went viral on social media.

Baby, who visited various houses in Kodungallur on Monday as part of the CPM house-to-house contact program, came to have lunch at the Azhikode house of party leader and district panchayat member Noushad Karukpadam.

The CPM General Secretary ate rice and sardine curry. After that, he went to the kitchen and washed the plate he had eaten on. The video, taken by a party worker, was later circulated on social media. When Noushad's wife, Rahmat, said that they would wash the plate, Baby replied that he did not want to change his habit for a day.

He said that since childhood, he has had the habit of washing the dishes he ate in, and he still follows it. While washing the dishes, he shared his family stories with Rahmat. Naushad responded that it should be an example for everyone.
