KOZHIKODE: CPM Kozhikode District Secretary P Mohanan dismissed having any knowledge about the allegations levelled against a CPM leader who purportedly took a bribe for PSC membership. P Mohanan accused the media of cooking up stories and dismissed allegations of the party having role in the bribe case. He was responding to media after the CPM district secretariat meeting on Tuesday.

“We haven’t received any tip-off into the case despite the media creating uproar. The district committee and the party are unaware of the happenings. These are all media-created ruckus to taint the image of Minister Mohammed Riyas and the party.

There should not be any tendency to commit ill work from any of the party workers. If comes to our notice, strict action will be taken against such people.” Said P Mohanan.

When asked if the party had taken any action against CPM worker Pramod Kottoolli, P Mohanan gave a clear ‘NO’ as an answer. He then took a jibe and asked the media people to hand over a written statement of allegations to the party.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan did not deny the allegations levelled against the CPM leader that he took a bribe for PSC membership. When the opposition raised the allegation in the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister responded blithely saying “Many similar frauds are happening in the state. The government will take actions against all abiding by the law”.
