Crescent moon sighted; Ramadan fasting to begin in Kerala on Sunday

KOZHIKODE: The Ramadan fast will commence in Kerala on Sunday, following the sighting of the crescent moon. Various Qazis have confirmed that the moon was visible in places such as Ponnani in Malappuram, as well as Kadalundi and Kappad in Kozhikode.

In the Gulf countries, Ramadan fasting began on Saturday. This year, Ramadan started simultaneously across the Gulf nations, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. In North India, the Ramadan fast is set to begin on Sunday.
