THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Raj Bhavan has come out with an explanation to the news that it had sent a letter to the Chief Minister asking for the regularisation of around 20 employees. The Raj Bhavan clarified that not a single person has been appointed in excess of the allotted number. According to the Raj Bhavan, it demanded the regularisation of a photographer, who has been working at the Raj Bhavan for 23 years. It also clarified that there is no pension for the Governor's personal staff and it has not demanded to allow them a pension.

The letter was sent on December 2020. Governor’s recommendation was for Kudumbashree employees who only have five years of working experience. He also requested to regularize the appointment of the photographer who has been working in Raj Bhavan on a temporary basis.

In the letter, the Governor also requested that the post of 'Cypher Assistant' be renamed as photographer to regularize Dileep, who was working as a photographer on a contract basis. The government order confirming the photographer post states that the appointment is based on a letter sent to the chief minister on the special request of the governor.
