KANNUR: The intelligence department of police have started a survey to find out whether the gold theft in Sabarimala has hampered government's third term. The question is whether the gold theft caused disrespect among the believers and whether it has tarnished the government's image. With former Devaswom Board President and Commissioner N Vasu becoming the third accused in the case, the government and the CPM are on a strong defensive. Along with this, it is reported that another former president A Padmakumar may be questioned by the special investigation team. The investigation is also extending to the present devaswom board. All this has put the government on the defensive.

Apart from knowing whether the gold theft has shattered dreams, it is also being examined whether the government's prestige projects, including the increase in social welfare pension and the declaration of the state as extreme poverty-free, will be converted into votes in the local elections and how neutral voters will stand. Normally, before an election, the police intelligence wing submits a report on the present political situation. However, such a report is not needed this time and a detailed and meticulous assessment is required, directed the top brass.

Whether the government's work needs to be improved further, and if so, what things should be taken into account, etc. are also being collected in the secret survey. It is also known that the information collected in this way may be included in the LDF's manifesto list. It has also been instructed to submit the report by November 15.
Information is being collected from ordinary workers, bus and auto workers, students, youth, women, the elderly, traders, employees, etc. The information will be collected from different parts of the state.
