Director Akhil Marar NDA candidate in Kottarakkara? To join Twenty20 soon

KOLLAM: Unconfirmed reports say director and Bigg Boss Season 5 winner Akhil Marar will be fielded in Kottarakkara by Twenty20. The NDA, which has Twenty20 presently, is thinking to field him anywhere in Kollam. Twenty20 President Sabu M Jacob is convening a press meet at 3 pm today. It remains to be seen whether this will be announced. Reports say Sabu M Jacob will officially give membership to Akhil Marar at the press meet.

Meantime, Akhil Marar was a Congress sympathizer. He had earlier made a statement that he wanted the Congress to come to power. With this, there came the campaign that he will contest from Kollam. Akhil Marar is a native of Kottarakkara. He had informed his interest in contesting. Akhil said that he did not want a winning seat but wants a seat where the party will lose. He had demanded that he be considered in one of the constituencies of Nemom, Dharmadam and Chadayamangalam. Some leaders supported that Chadayamangalam could be considered, but later opposed the stand. Meanwhile, Akhil Marar confirmed that he had held discussions with Twenty20 leaders. Discussions had been going on in this regard for about a week. Although the BJP had also approached him for candidacy, Akhil Marar did not show any interest. He did not want to join the BJP directly.
