
KOCHI: Apology to the family, financial details, matters regarding business succession. These formed the major matters written in the suicide note prepared by businessman CJ Roy before taking his life. The nine-page suicide note of the Confidant Group Chairman opened a new door of investigation into the case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has now turned their attention to this. Statements of his wife and children are also being collected.
The note, written in his own handwriting, mentions personal matters and the successor to his business empire. Some details show signs of emotional breakdown about the mysterious circumstances that led to his suicide. It is reported that Roy had disclosed the details of his financial transactions to his wife Annie before his death. The investigation team has decided to take Annie's detailed statement on these matters after the funeral ceremonies are completed.
The investigation team assesses from the note that Roy had planned his suicide in a calculated manner. Roy shot himself dead during a raid by Income Tax Department officials at the Confident Group corporate office in Richmond Circle on Hosur Road near Ankappa, Bengaluru, on Friday evening.
