THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shafi Parambil MP said that it was up to KPCC President Sunny Joseph to decide whether to take back expelled leader Rahul Mamkootathil to the party. Shafi added that the gold loot in Sabarimala should be discussed in the local body elections.

“There has never been such a time of uncertainty surrounding the Sabarimala temple. Even the valuables, including gold, are looted in broad daylight. What justification will the CPM give, as most of their cadres are now in jail? The loot in Sabarimala was a government-sponsored robbery.

The party has not even issued a show-cause notice, even though a CPM district committee member is in jail. The Devaswom Board, which is responsible for protecting the gold in Sabarimala, became a den for gold looters. The entire government system is complicit in the robbery," Shafi Parambil alleged.
