THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty responded to the ED summons against CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s son Vivek. The minister called it a hit job against the chief minister and said the ‘lame effort’ fell flat, which he said was clear after the ED didn’t proceed with any case against the CM’s son. The Enforcement Directorate issued a summons to Vivek Kiran in 2023.

“They cannot politically trump us, so they chose to drag family members into it. The government and the CPM have nothing to hide. We are ready to face any investigation. The people of Kerala now have a clear idea of how ED functions. If there was anything substantive, why would the ED be idle for more than a year and a half? The ED has proven itself that there is no basis in this case by not taking even minor follow-up action against someone who did not appear following their summons,” said V Sivankutty.

Meanwhile, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal MP alleged a mystery behind the withholding of information about the ED summoning the Chief Minister's son in connection with the money laundering case.
