THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In light of the increasing transactions involving drugs and other illegal activities through the dark web, the Kerala Police have intensified cyber patrolling. According to the police, a dedicated unit within Cyberdome is operating solely to monitor dark web transactions. This information was shared through their official Facebook page.

The operations are being led by cybersecurity experts, ethical hackers, and cyber professionals. The police also revealed that many Malayalees are involved in dark web dealings.

With a rise in transactions involving drugs and other illicit activities through the dark web, the Kerala Police have strengthened cyber patrolling. A specific unit within Cyberdome is functioning exclusively to monitor dark web dealings.

The operation is under the leadership of cybersecurity experts, ethical hackers, and cyber professionals. A significant number of Malayalees have reportedly been involved in these transactions. Apart from drugs, the main activities conducted via the dark web in the country include data trading, malware distribution, the sale of counterfeit luxury brand products, and child pornography. Special software has also been developed under the guidance of cybersecurity professionals to track and apprehend those involved in dark web transactions.
