Drinking competition with other school students; collapsed Plus Two student admitted to ICU during Onam celebrations

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A student who drank alcohol in competition with his friends during Onam celebrations has been admitted to the intensive care unit in a critical condition. Seven students from various schools in the city gathered at a house under construction in Althara yesterday and drank alcohol. The five others ran away after the Plus Two student collapsed after being overly drunk.

It was a student in the group who informed the Museum police about the incident. The police reached the spot and took the student to the Medical College Hospital in an ambulance. The critically ill student was shifted to the intensive care unit. The Museum police have not yet registered a case in the incident. The students, who had come dressed in mundu for Onam celebrations, went to the Bevco outlet and bought alcohol.
