Drunk son kicks 80-year-old mother to death in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A drunk man kicked his aged mother to death in Nedumangad. The dead is Omana (80) of Thekkada in Vattappara. The incident happened last night. Manikandan, who was in an inebriated condition beat her and then kicked her to death.

Hearing her screams, the locals reached the spot and rushed Omana to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. Omana's bones were broken and her internal organs were damaged in his attack. She was confirmed dead at around 11.30 pm. The locals said Manikandan had attacked his mother earlier also.

Omana was against his consumption of alcohol and a verbal dispute often breaks out over this. Manikandan is her only son. The police are grilling him in custody and his arrest will be registered soon.
