THIRUVANATHAPURAM: A court order came on Monday asking officials to confiscate DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib's property for a breach of contract allegation. This amount should be deposited in Thiruvananthapuram 2nd Sub Court if the DGP wants access to his property.

The petitioner is R. Umar Sharif of Rafa Mansil, Thycaud, DPI Junction, JPN-166.

Umar had signed an agreement to purchase a property of 10.8 cents in Manikandeswaram, Peroorkada for Rs 74 lakh. The property was in the name of DGP's wife, Farida Fatima. The agreement was to transfer the land within two months. Umar paid Rs 15 lakh on the day of the contract and Rs 10 lakh two days later. A week later, he came to the DGP office and paid 5 lakhs. On the same day, DGP acknowledged receiving Rs 30 lakh after signing a contract paper.

The DGP took money from Umar after saying that he had no financial obligations. When he asked for another Rs 25 lakhs, Umar felt suspicious and asked for the document of the property. On investigation, it was learned that the land was pledged to the SBI Althara branch for 26 lakhs.

Learning about the truth, Umar through his lawyers requested the DGP return Rs 30 lakhs already paid. Meanwhile, Umar had to approach the court with an allegation of DGP trying to sell the property to another client.

"There was a definite agreement in the sale of the property. After three months, he did not pay the balance and asked me to return the advance. I said I would sell the land and pay the money. All details regarding the property were informed before the payment. The whole incident took a toll on me financially. I will proceed legally.” said DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib.
