KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also stepped in to investigate the Sabarimala gold theft case. The ED has approached the High Court seeking copies of the FIRs and statements recorded in the case. According to the ED, the preliminary inquiry has revealed evidence of black money transactions.

Last week, the ED had filed a similar request before the Ranni court, but the court rejected it. The ED has now approached the High Court challenging that decision. The High Court is expected to consider the ED’s plea on Monday.

Meanwhile, the High Court has stayed the arrest of Jayasree, the fourth accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case and a former Devaswom Board secretary. The court has ordered that she should not be arrested until Tuesday. This order came after the special investigation team moved to arrest her. Jayasree’s argument is that she was only an employee of the Devaswom Board and had no knowledge of the gold theft.
