KOCHI: Complainant Aneesh Babu has made serious allegations against a senior officer of the Enforcement Directorate in the bribery case. The complainant said that ED Deputy Director Vinod Kumar mentally harassed him. The complainant revealed that the ED officer called him to the cabin and verbally abused him, and yelled at him to sit on the floor.

The complainant initially said that it was ED Regional Deputy Director P Radhakrishnan who called him to the cabin and harassed him. However, he said he gave the wrong name by mistake and said that it was Vinod Kumar who threatened him. "No ED official directly threatened me. A person named Vinod Kumar threatened me in connection with the case," Aneesh Babu told the media. Meanwhile, Vigilance SP S Sasidharan said that three people have been arrested after registering a case and investigating the complaint. He added that the rest of the investigation needs to be done, and time is needed.

Vigilance has registered a bribery case of Rs 2 crore against ED Kochi unit's Assistant Director Shekhar Kumar as the first accused. A departmental investigation has also been initiated in the case. The middleman, Wilson Varghese (36), a native of Ernakulam Thammanam, was arrested the other day while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. Later, Mukesh Kumar Jain (55), a native of Rajasthan, was also caught. They revealed that the bribe was for Shekhar Kumar.
