THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second fishing boat that went missing amidst severe downpours in Vizhinjam was recovered on Saturday. As per reports, all fishermen on board are safe. Steps have been taken to bring them back to shore. With this, eight of the nine missing fishermen have been found. Another fisherman named Stellans, who went missing in the first boat from Vizhinjam, is yet to be found.

Both the boats capsized due to inclement weather. The second boat was found near the Colachel coast in Tamil Nadu. It was fishermen from Tamil Nadu who found a few castaways sitting atop a capsized boat and shouting for help.

The four people who were rescued in the morning were brought ashore. They have been admitted to the hospital. They were found off the Kanyakumari coast. Last Thursday, around 3 pm, nine fishermen went fishing in three boats.

A search was initiated when the fishermen didn’t return as promised on Saturday. However, rough seas and strong winds impeded the search.

Now, the search is ongoing for the lone fisherman, who is still missing.
