THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first examination results after the introduction of minimum marks in the VIII class have been announced. Minister V Sivankutty announced that the full results will be announced tomorrow. The minimum marks required in each subject are 30 percent. Parents will be informed on the 7th of the details of students who did not secure the minimum marks in each subject in the written examination. These students will be given additional support classes from the 8th to the 24th. The classes will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. The students will only need to attend support classes in the subjects for which they did not secure the specified marks. The re-examination will be held from 25th to 28th and the results will be announced on the 30th.
In the ninth grade, the 'Save a Year' (SAY) examination will be conducted like the previous year. Monitoring of classes will be done under the leadership of officials as per the instructions of the Director of General Education. Monitoring system at the BRC and CRC level has also been set up. For the efficient implementation of these schemes, a meeting of the implementation officers at the state level will be held on the 7th at 11 am under the chairmanship of the Minister. A meeting of district-level officers and BRCs and CRCs will be held at 5 pm. The annual examination of the eighth grade was conducted in 3,136 schools in the state, including 1,229 schools in the government sector, 1,434 in the aided sector and 473 in the unaided sector.
