THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar reaffirmed that KSRTC will not be part of the national strike called by various trade unions tomorrow. The minister said that the KSRTC employees are now happy and content with their work unlike in previous years. The minister also responded to the strike by private buses demanding an increase in student fares. Ganesh Kumar said it required talking to the students before deciding on the private bus owners' demand.

Minister Ganesh Kumar:

“According to private bus staff, youngsters are boarding the bus in the guise of school students to get ST tickets. To end concern over the issue, an application can be introduced in private buses akin to KSRTC. Children will be able to use it to buy tickets.

However, the private bus owners also demand the removal of the speed governing system. How can it be done? They also want permits on the route of their choice. All these are not demands that can be accepted easily.”
