Every student part of school mid-day meal scheme to be given 5 kg of rice during summer vacation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Students who are members of the school mid-day meal scheme will be given 5 kg of rice each during the summer vacation. Minister V Sivankutty informed that the distribution of rice will start from March 20.

In the next academic year, 2,81,00,000 textbooks were ordered to be printed in the first volume. 40 lakh textbooks of classes 9 and 10 have been delivered to the district hubs for distribution. KBPS informed that the printing of other books is in progress. The state-level inauguration of textbook distribution will be held at Alappuzha on March 25 at 3 pm. Distribution is through Kudumbashree.

State level inauguration of free handloom uniform distribution for the next academic year will be held at Ernakulam on March 25 at 10 am. Rs 130 crore rupees will be spent to provide uniforms to ten lakh children.
