THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Disciplinary action has been taken on the information that there is a gang from Mysore issuing licenses via agents without conducting driving tests. The officials of the Tirurangadi RTO office have been suspended. The suspended officials include MVI George and Clerk Najeeb. A vigilance investigation has also been recommended against these officials.

Reports have emerged that a group that is organising licenses from Mysore without conducting a test is active in North Kerala. The allegation has been made that the address, signature and photo of licenses organised from Mysore are being edited out to make it a Kerala license. It is reported that some officials of the Motor Vehicles Department are also involved in this. The Motor Vehicles Department has started an investigation into the incident.

The trend has surged due to stricter driving test regulations in Kerala, prompting people to seek licenses from neighbouring states, where tests are perceived to be more lenient. More people are getting their licenses through agents in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. However, it is reported that those who get their licenses in this way are getting their licenses without even taking the tests in these states.
