KASARAGOD: The locals blamed the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) after a farmer died while touching a snapped power line found fallen on the field. He has been identified as A Kunhiraman (65) of Chemmattamvayal Adambil. The locals alleged that this electric wire broke one and a half months ago and that there is a lapse from the side of the officials for not turning up even after filing a complaint.

Kunhiraman, who went to drop his grandson at the Anganwadi, was found dead at 2 pm in the arecanut plantation. His body was found touching the broken power line. It is believed that the accident may have happened when he tried to remove the line, which had been lying there for months, thinking that there would be no electricity.

Since the line constantly breaks, a new line was installed on the other side. The locals said the power in the old line was not disconnected. However, the electricity was disconnected earlier and they will check how the electricity flowed through it, said the KSEB Mavungal Section assistant engineer.
