Fell into Chalakudy river during train journey; Youngster's body recovered

THRISSUR: The body of a youngster who fell from a train into the Chalakudy river was recovered on Saturday. Kasaragod native Achuthananda Shenoy (40) fell into the river from the Venad Express on Thursday morning.

Locals, after spotting the incident, informed the fire force unit. Soon, the scuba unit reached the spot and inspected the waters, but to no avail. Then on Friday, the scuba team searched again for hours and recovered the body from the Kudungapuzha Kadavu area in western Chalakudy. Achuthananda Shenoy, who worked in a financial institution in Karayamparambu, Angamaly, was on his way home when the accident occurred. The body was shifted to Chalakudy Taluk Hospital for postmortem.
