Filmed private video of married woman with male friend; Two arrested in Kannur

KANNUR: Police nabbed a gang for threatening a duo after covertly filming their private scenes in Kannur. The Kudiyanmala police arrested Shamal, who lives in the Rajiv Bhavan, Kizhakkandiyil, and Latheef, who lives near the Technical School in Naduvil. Shyam, who is Shamal's brother and the first accused in the case, is in remand in another case.

The incident took place last February. The married woman was often visited by her male friend from Alakode. Realising this, Shyam and Shamal hid a secret camera in the bedroom and recorded the private scenes. They used the video to threaten the young woman. The duo demanded money from the woman and even sent the video to their friend Latheef.

Latheef reached the house of the young woman and demanded that she pay him money and make more compromises, or else threatened to release the video. The woman had had enough of the blackmail and complained to the police.
