PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint surfaced regarding the death of IB officer Megha in Thiruvananthapuram. Megha's father, Madhusoodanan, alleged that his daughter was financially exploited by her boyfriend, a native of Malappuram. He alleged that Megha had transferred her full salary of February to her boyfriend. At the time of her death, Megha had just Rs 80 in her account.

“Megha was in a relationship with Sukant Suresh from Edappal in the Malappuram district. He was constantly exploiting her financially. We checked the bank statement. She used to send him all her money, including her monthly salary. In return, he will send her Rs. 500 or Rs. 1,000 every month for expenses.

Some of her friends had now revealed how Megha would skip lunch because of being skint. When enquired she told friends that all money was transferred to family. Even the salary she received on February 28 was sent to his account, ' Madhusudhanan said

The family leveled allegations against the IB officer, the Malappuram native, on the very day of Megha's death. The Pettah police were investigating the circumstances leading up to it. The police have Megha's phone in their possession. The family also handed over the laptop to the police. Megha’s father requested that these be subjected to forensic examination.
