Fire breaks out at private financial firm in Thiruvananthapuram city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fire broke out at a three-storied building at Sasthamangalam in the capital city. The fire broke out at the firm titled Kannatt Fingold on Maruthamkuzhi Road at Sasthamangalam Junction Monday morning at 5 am. Three units of the fire brigade reached the spot and doused the fire within half an hour.

The fire was caused from the inverter in the office and that newspaper distributors were in the area till 4:30 am, informed Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prashanth, who reached the spot. The fire broke out after they returned and the police and fire brigade immediately reached the spot and doused the fire, said the MLA.

The financial firm is on the second floor of the building. There are indications that the office suffered major damages. The fire was extinguished before it spread to other places.
