KOZHIKODE: The police have taken five into custody after their vehicle entered the chief minister’s convoy. The incident happened when the chief minister and his convoy were coming to Kozhikode Guest House from Kannur. This vehicle entered the chief minister’s convoy before reaching Elathur at 10 pm. Though the police warned them to stay away, those in the car did not obey. Following this, the police stopped the vehicle at the Chungam and took the five in the vehicle into custody.

When questioned by the Nadakkave police, they said that they were going from Kannur to Palakkad in connection with electrical work. A walkie-talkie has been recovered from the car. Naseeb, Jyothibas, Mohammed Harris, Faisal from Malappuram and Abdul Wahid of Palakkad were taken into custody. They told police that they did not know that it was the chief minister's convoy.
