PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint has been filed alleging food poisoning from biryani rice. A notice has been issued against the brand owner of the rice and the company's brand ambassador Dulquer Salmaan. The notice was sent by the Pathanamthitta District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Actor Dulquer Salmaan and the company owner have been directed to appear before the commission on December 3.

The notice was sent on the complaint filed by P N Jayarajan of Pathanamthitta. The complainant, who runs a catering firm in Pathanamthitta, had purchased this brand of rice to make biryani for a wedding ceremony, but the date of packing and expiry date were not recorded in the sack.

It is alleged that people experienced food poisoning after eating biryani made from this rice. There is also a complaint against the company Malabar Biryani and Spices, which sold the rice. However, the complaint has been filed against brand ambassador Dulquer Salmaan, as the main accused. The complainant also said that he bought this rice after seeing Dulquer Salmaan in the advertisement.
