THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Renowned writer T Padmanabhan has wished Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala all the best in the near future. He was releasing Chennithala's first novel 'Niyogam'.

"Chennithala has a great writing style. 'Niyogam' will be an asset for generations to come. This is one of the best novels. The theme of the novel is that it starts in Chicago and ends in Ottapalam. Creative works should travel from generation to generation. I am proud to be the oldest living Congress member in India," he said.

Director and writer Blessy received the book at a function held at Apollo Dimora. Blessy said he was happy to share the stage with T Padmanabhan for the first time.

"Chennithala is a person who has a deep understanding of Malayalam novel literature. This novel is like a film that combines many beautiful scenes," he said.

Ramesh Chennithala said in his reply speech that the love and help of many people were behind the completion of the novel. "The novel is centered around three strong female characters. I have started writing another book based on the history of my hometown Onattukara. That book is based on events from the monarchy to the freedom struggle," he said.

Writer Dr. George Onakkoor presided over the function. Dr. P.K. Rajasekharan conducted the book introduction.
