Gold rates fall massively in Kerala; big news amidst busy wedding season

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After four consecutive days of soaring highs, gold prices fell sharply in the state on Saturday. The rates fell by Rs 1,200 in one go. Today's market price of one sovereign of gold is Rs 71,840.

Since the start of June, gold prices have increased by around Rs 1,680. The sudden fall in prices is a big solace amidst a busy wedding season. Today, the market price of one gram of 22-carat gold fell by Rs 150 to Rs 8,980. Today's market price of one gram of 18-carat gold is Rs 7,365. The price of one gram of ordinary silver is Rs 113.

  • June 1 - Gold price unchanged - Price of one sovereign - 71,360

  • June 2 - Gold price increased by Rs 1120 per sovereign. Market price - 72,480

  • June 3 - Gold price increased by Rs 160 per sovereign. Market price - 72,640

  • June 4 - Gold price increased by Rs 80 per sovereign. Market price - 72,720

  • June 5 - Gold price increased by Rs 320 per sovereign. Market price - 73,040

  • June 6 - Gold price unchanged. Market price - 73,040

  • June 7 - Gold price decreased by Rs 1200 per sovereign. Market price - 71,840
