Gold theft case: SIT arrives at Sannidhanam for investigation

SABARIMALA: As per the High Court’s direction, the special investigation team probing the gold-cover theft reached Sabarimala yesterday for scientific examination. The 15-member team, including experts, arrived under the leadership of SP Sasidharan.

Today, after the Ucha Pooja, the team will seek permission from the Tantri. The inspection will be done after the temple doors are closed. The team will collect samples, including the weight of the gold plates on the Dwarapalaka sculptures, the weight of the side pillar plates, the weight of the door frames installed in 2019, gold samples from temple sections that were not handed over to Unnikrishnan Potty, samples from other places, and copper plate samples from the Dwarapalaka sculptures and door frames.
