THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Activist Rahul Easwar has reacted to the arrest of Sabarimala Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru in the gold theft case. In his Facebook post, Rahul Easwar said that the Tantri has no role in administrative matters and that the Tantri's authority is limited only to matters related to faith and rituals.
Rahul Easwar said that the Thazhamon family is one of the two Brahmin families brought to Kerala by Lord Parashurama thousands of years ago and that they hold a paternal position in relation to Lord Ayyappa of Sabarimala. He added that the Tantri should be judged only after the courts take a clear stand, and that he is saying this not because the Tantri is his relative, but because justice must be ensured for everyone.

Brahmashree Kandarar Rajeevar has never been involved in any controversy in his life and has never faced any allegations or blame. In none of the nine interim orders issued by the High Court has there been any negative observation against the Tantri. The Tantri has no role or responsibility in administrative or governance-related matters. His authority and responsibility are limited to faith and ritual practices.
The Thazhamon family is one of the two Brahmin families brought to Kerala by Lord Parashurama thousands of years ago. The Tantri holds a paternal position in relation to Lord Ayyappa of Sabarimala. (The Tantri should be criticised only after the courts clarify their position. I am saying this not because he is my relative, but because justice should be ensured for everyone. In the past, many people, including scientist Nambi Narayanan, were falsely implicated and had to spend months in jail.)
I don't know if the Tantri is being made a scapegoat for administrative failures in order to protect others. Let the court and Lord Ayyappa decide the matter. I am talking with Brahmin organisations, Hindu organisations, and faith-based groups regarding the issue.
