KOCHI: Air India is likely to resume direct flights from Nedumbassery airport to London. Reports that came in said a team led by Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) managing director S Suhas met Air India officials in Gurgaon and obtained assurances in this regard. The meeting came after the announcement of the termination of the Kochi-London service on March 28.

After evaluating CIAL's proposal, Air India promised to resume the flight services soon. CIAL stressed the importance of the route for Kerala's connectivity with the UK during the talks. It also directed an incentive scheme to provide support until commercial stability is achieved.

A statement released by CIAL said the airline authorities have informed that the services can be resumed within a few months after the summer schedule.
