Guruvayur Devaswom reveals ownership of 1,084 kg gold and ₹2,053 crore in fixed deposits

THRISSUR: It is reported that Guruvayoor Devaswom owns more than one ton of gold. The figures show that the Devaswom Board has invested 869 kg of gold in the Reserve Bank's gold investment scheme alone. 2053 crores of fixed deposits in various nationalized banks. It was previously reported that he owns a total of 271 acres of land. After this, the statistics of gold came out.

According to records, Guruvayoor Devaswom owns 1084.76 kg of gold. 869.2 kg of gold has been invested in four gold investment schemes of SBI. The calculation of the interest earned from the investment has also been released. Devaswom received more than Rs 7 crore interest from SBI last financial year through fixed deposit and gold deposit.

In the years immediately preceding this, more than six and a half crore rupees have been received as interest. The Devaswom has 141.16 kg of gold for daily use. Meanwhile, there is a Public Interest Litigation in the High Court seeking valuation of the properties of Guruvayur Devaswom. A division bench comprising the Chief Justice will hear the petition next week.
