Habitat of bats should not be destroyed and don't eat fruit bitten or abandoned by creatures; CM comes with instructions

KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan paid tributes to the 14-year-old boy who died of Nipah in Malappuram. He clarified in his Facebook post that all efforts were taken to save the boy and as a last resort, arrangements were made to deliver the medicine monoclonal antibody.


The chief minister informed that Health Minister Veena George has reached Malappuram and is coordinating the activities. There are 30 isolation rooms in Manjeri Medical College and necessary intensive care facilities have been taken in Kozhikode Medical College. The chief minister also mentioned in his post that temporary restrictions have been imposed at Pandikkad and Anakkayam panchayats.


The chief minister directed people not to destroy the habitat of bats, do not eat fruits that have been bitten or abandoned by any other creatures, do not drink honey from banana plants, wash hands with soap or sanitiser if there is a situation of touching bats, their excrement or the things they have bitten.
