
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court cancelled the case against actress Shwetha Menon for making money by acting in obscene films. The court canceled the case registered by the Kochi Central Police. The court cancelled the proceedings of Ernakulam CJM Court. The court asked police why the case is not being dismissed.
The court clarified that the crime against Shwetha Menon will not exist and that even if the complaint is taken at face value, it will not stand. The court observed that the complaint was to tarnish her image. The case was registered against her during the time of elections in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The FIR was registered on the directions of the magistrate court.
A case was registered against Shwetha under Section 67(A) of the IT Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on the complaint filed by Martin Menachery. The complaint against Shwetha also alleged that obscene scenes were circulated on social media.
