THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr. Haris Chirakkal has said he wishes to avoid further controversies following the closure of the probe into the missing surgical equipment at the Medical College. Speaking to reporters, he described Health Minister Veena George as a valued person and suggested that she may have been misinformed about the complaint.
“The state government has always supported me. The minister is someone I hold in high regard. It’s possible she was given wrong information regarding the missing equipment. The inquiry into the matter is complete, and the report will be submitted on Monday. I am not blaming anyone for the bills or equipment not being identified. Such things can happen,” Dr Haris said.
"I understand that the complaints I raised had not reached the government level earlier. Now that they have reached the right places, the issues are being solved one by one. And as for my office room- anyone can enter it; there is nothing unusual about that," he added.
He was speaking to the media before returning to work today after a five-day leave.
