Heavy rain; holiday declared for educational institutions in another district in addition to Kasaragod

THRISSUR: In addition to Kasaragod district, holiday has been declared for educational institutions in Thrissur district tomorrow due to heavy rains. The holiday is applicable to educational institutions including anganwadis, tuition centres and professional colleges. There will be no change in pre-scheduled exams and interviews. The holiday is not applicable to residential educational institutions.

Kasaragod district collector Imbasekhar had declared a holiday for educational institutions including professional colleges in Kasaragod district tomorrow. There is a red alert in the district today and an orange alert tomorrow.

Meanwhile, red alert continues in five districts of the state today. Red alert has been sounded in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kasaragod and Kannur districts of north Kerala where the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Orange alert has been sounded in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Kannur and Kasaragod districts tomorrow. Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam districts.
