Heavy rain to intensify in state, yellow alert sounded in 12 districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warning that heavy rainfall would continue in the state. Yellow alert has been declared in 12 districts – Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur.

As per the weather forecast, isolated heavy rain is likely. Heavy rain means rainfall of 64.5 mm to 114.5 mm in 24 hours. According to this, only Kollam and Kasaragod districts in Kerala have no rain warning today.

Meanwhile, the IMD has informed that there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala from November 13 to November 15.
