THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued in various districts. Orange alert has been issued in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Kozhikode on June 12 and in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod on June 13. There is a possibility of very heavy rain in isolated places. The IMD says very heavy rainfall of 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm of rain will be there in 24 hours.

The IMD has sounded yellow alert in the following districts. The IMD defines heavy rainfall as a situation where 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain falls in 24 hours. Thunderstorms are expected.
