Holiday declared for educational institutions in five districts, including Ernakulam

KOCHI: Considering the incessant rains, a holiday was declared for five districts in Kerala tomorrow. Given the orange alert declared in Ernakulam district due to strong winds and rain, all educational institutions, including professional colleges, will remain closed on Friday, District Collector N.S.K. Umesh announced. The holiday applies to Anganwadis and tuition centres, the notification said.

In the wake of the orange alert declared in Thrissur district amid unabated rains, a holiday was declared for all educational institutions, including professional colleges in the district, tomorrow as a precautionary measure. The holiday applies to all educational institutions, including CBSE, ICSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Anganwadis, Madrasas, tuition centres, and training institutes. There will be no change in the scheduled exams and interviews.

The district collectors of Idukki, Wayanad and Kottayam also declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges, tomorrow to avoid accidents due to the ongoing heavy rain and wind in the districts. The holiday applies to all educational institutions, including Anganwadis, Madrasas, Tuition Centres, Training Institutes, and Kendriya Vidyalayas. However, there will be no holiday for residential educational institutions.

The collectors of all concerned districts have asked school authorities to find alternate ways to compensate for the time lost.
