Kattakada assault: Court rejects KSRTC employees’ anticipatory bail pleas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of ​​KSRTC employees, accused in the incident of roughing up a man in front of his daughter when they came to renew her concession at Kattakkada bus depot. The sixth additional sessions court judge K Vishnu rejected the bail pleas of Milan Dorich of Kallikad Mailakkara Mangalya, S R Suresh Kumar of Aramada Theribagam Pulari, N Anil Kumar of Karakulam Kachani Shreeshailyam, Aji Kumar of Veeranakavu Panniyodu Aji Bhavan and Muhammed Sherif of Kuttichal Darul Aman. The prosecution requested the court to collect the audio and visuals from the accused to scientifically examine the visuals of the incident and the accused should be kept in custody for this.

The case is that the man was manhandled in front of his daughter. She was also attacked when tried to stop the manhandling. The incident happened on September 20. Premanan, an employee of Poovachal panchayat and a native of Amachal, was attacked when he came with his daughter, a graduate student, to renew her concession. An employee in the counter said course certificate is needed to renew the concession. A verbal dispute over it ended in attacking Premanan and his daughter.

The accused have not been arrested yet. In the meanwhile, CITU had come forward defending the accused.
