KOLLAM: The soil and reinforced earth walls of the damaged side of the Mylakkadu elevated road near Kottiyam on the national highway were cleared for about 150 meters.

Since the soil on one side was completely cleared, the removal of the RE wall panels and soil on the other side, which was not damaged, began on Sunday. Along with the damage to the service road of the elevated road, the concrete wall and slabs of the ditch across the road in this area were also damaged. As part of making the service road passable, a precast drain was installed in place of the damaged slabs of the ditch.

With the collapse of the elevated road, the 350 mm main pipeline, the 160 mm pipeline connecting the domestic connections, the main pipeline line under the service road and the distribution pipeline in the utility area have been restored. The restoration of the damaged underground cables of KSEB will be delayed.
