THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has decided to reduce the fare for chartered trips for weddings and private functions. The new decision is part of the effective use of available spare buses with the aim of reducing costs and generating additional revenue. The new fare has been announced in four categories, A, B, C and D. It is reported that the new fare will be applicable from ordinary buses to Volvos.
The buses have been prepared for private trips by carrying out repairs. Trips are classified as four hours, eight hours, 12 hours and 16 hours. According to the new fare, a minibus will cost Rs 3,500 for a four-hour journey of 40 km. This is the amount including GST.
The fare for an ordinary bus for a four-hour journey is Rs 3,600. 40 km is the distance of the trip and return. For each additional kilometre, the amount according to the class of the bus and GST will have to be paid.
