KSU calls for education bandh on Friday; protests to be held statewide

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Students Union (KSU) has called for a statewide education bandh on Friday in protest against the police action during their Secretariat march against the state government's educational policies.

The march, led by the KSU state committee, witnessed clashes between the police and KSU activists. According to KSU, many of its activists were injured during the protest. Police used water cannons and carried a lathi charge to disperse the protesters. The KSU activists pelted stones at the police. KSU State President Aloshious Xavier sustained injuries during the protest.
